GAASI’s mission is to:
1. Explore and implement all available and potential means that will complement, and contribute to, all on-going development efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable Iraq. It will inspire, support, build, and develop the capacity of Iraqis in their strive to reconstruct Iraq in accordance with the 2005 World Summit Outcomes , the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPoI) , Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the Habitat Agenda (HA) and Agenda 21;
2. Practice and promote the responsible use of the Iraq's ecosystems and resources;
3. educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural human environment;
4. Use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
